Irish Calisthenics Championship 2022

We are delighted to announce the official results from the Irish Calisthenics Championships, which took place June 18th, and acted as a direct qualifier to the World Championships in Riga, Latvia on the 20/21st of August!

This was a landmark occasion for the sport in Ireland, as it was the first time we have been able to host a direct qualifier to the World Championships!

A big thanks must go to South Dublin County Council for their long-term support and co-operation in developing the sport. The have built Tymon Park, now the premier facility for Calisthenics in Ireland and without that an event like this would not be possible.

We would also like thank everyone that came out to support the athletes, it made such a difference to everyone competing to have the backing of a crowd all willing them on to perform at their best. As our sport is developing, this was one of the best opportunities for all athletes to get a chance to perform in front of their own crowd, look out and see familiar faces, which hasn’t always been the case when you are having to compete in other countries! So for all athletes, this was a great opportunity to showcase our sport with the backing of our respective clubs and the team-mates / members they all have!

A huge mention must go towards the clubs and athletes who represented our sport in such a great way. This has left a mark on the sport here and is the first chapter in our story towards developing the sport. We can only continue to grow and develop from here, together!

‘To compete’ is Latin in origin and means ‘to strive together’. I believe all athletes did this at this event. They showcased the sport, and helped to push each other to new levels, and motivate each other to reach new heights. We all left our mark that will inspire more people to take part in the sport, and influence the next generation to push the sport even further.

A massive thanks to everyone that helped us mark this occasion, and we can’t wait to see the continued development of the sport on the back of this day! Now it’s time to wish all our athletes who have qualified for the World Championship the best of luck - Roll on Latvia!
