Opportunities for Physical Activity in a Built Environment

We are delighted to announce we will be running a one hour discussion workshop focused on highlighting how the built environment we live in impacts our opportunities for physical activity.

The aim from the workshop will be to provide further information and discussion on the built environment, and potential ways in which we can help young people increase their physical activity levels.

This workshop will be hosted by our Head Coach, Jamie Geraghty, currently an MSc student in Applied Sport and Exercise Psychology, with the overall aim to show how the built environment our young people grow up in influences their ability to be physically active.

‘‘If we can create an awareness of potential barriers and facilitators to physical activity then we are in a better position to help young people increase their activity levels and improve their overall health’’

Throughout the discussion, Jamie aims to provide further insight, particularly for parents of young people, on what opportunities we may have that can help us incorporate incidental activity throughout the day, allowing physical activity to become part of a young person’s lifestyle.

We hope to see you there!

Registration is free, however, due to limited spaces we ask everyone completes a form below to confirm their place.
